Alex Bues is a Partner and Head of the Origination Team. Mr. Bues is responsible for origination and evaluation of investment opportunities, business development, and portfolio company monitoring. Along with the other Partners, he develops investment theses for Soundcore. Prior to joining Soundcore, Mr. Bues built and led the business development functions at both Wellspring Capital Management, a middle-market private equity fund with $4.6 billion of assets under management, and Balance Point Capital, a middle-market private equity and debt fund with $1.7 billion of assets under management. Previously, Mr. Bues was on the investment team of New Capital Partners, where he sourced, evaluated, and executed investments in the lower middle market. Mr. Bues started his career at Greenwich Associates, a strategy consulting firm where he advised senior management teams of asset management companies on a variety of sales, product, and operations issues. Mr. Bues received a Master of Business Administration from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Denison University.
